Accommodation: $0

We spent one night in Zaandam at the Best Western. We paid for the night on points, otherwise it would have cost us $80 a night. It is located right off the main highway as well as the train station, plus walking distance to all the attractions. Win Win!

Transportation: $ 67 We had a car exchange during our Belgium swap and drove down to Holland for our mini stay. We had to pay for parking downtown in Amsterdam ($10) and the rest was used for gas.

Groceries: $42 (not included in budget) We packed a ton of food and groceries from our home to munch on as well as dinner to have at the hotel. No meals out!

Zaanse Schanse: $10 Entrance to this historic town is free, however you do need to pay for parking. If you choose, you can pay the $4 to get into the museum, but we did not as feasting on free cheese samples was may more fun.

Amsterdam Canal Tour: $60 We walked up and grabbed a canal tour and was able to secure free kids (woohoo!) only having to pay for us adults. Touring Amsterdam by canal is an absolute must!

Castle De Haar: $20

We had no idea what to expect when visiting the park and didnt have nearly enough time to do it justice. Highly reccomend and stay the afternoon! We only toured the grounds, but from what I can imagine the inside of the castle is drop dead gorgeous!

Total: $157
