Flights: $90 We flew Easyjet again out of Palma to Basel and again had no problems. They were a little more stingy on their rules here giving us a bit of a hard time because of our booster seat ( Trunki BoostaPak) being 1 more piece of luggage. Again, we only had carryon with no personal bag (ugh, I sure do miss the extra piece of personal luggage!)

Accommodation: $0 Our latest house swap landed us in Arosa, a 3 hour drive from our airport. The last hour from Chur is only a few km's but because of the mountains it is a painful hour of driving through countless hairpin turns and upset stomachs. Once we reached Arosa, we only left twice, and had to talk ourselves into doing so.

Tourist Fee: $220 Arosa offers an "Arosa Card" that allows you access to a handful of activities for free. You get this card free of charge when staying at any of their resorts, but because our stay was technically free, we had to pay a tourist fee to acquire this card.

Car rental + gas: $440 Again we rented a car ($380) from the airport to get us from A - B. We had high hopes of seeing some of Switzerland, but ended up not doing any. Having a car was a bonus for grocery shopping and getting to Lenzerheide though, but because of the lack of driving, we only had to fill up the car once.

Dining Out: $0 Switzerland is expensive, especially when it comes to food, so we didn't eat out at all during out trip to save some money.

Groceries: $450 (not included in overall budget) Groceries also aren't cheap here, so we had to limit our groceries to cheap foods. Lots of soup and corn with sausages that were grilled over the fire each day. Why go out when you have the best view in town over a fire?

Excursions: $80 We discovered that we were just a short drive away from Switzerland's longest toboggan ride, so we had to splurge. Thankfully our Arosa Cards offered us free chair lifts up the hill, so we only had to pay for the toboggan ride down. We went down three times and had So. Much. Fun!

Misc: $16 (parking charges)

Total: $846 (over budget! 😭)

We initially had a budget of $500 for Switzerland, but went over with the surprise additional cost of the tourist fee. Thankfully we had some cash in our budget from the last few countries, phew!
